What to Expect
The intention of a tour-style RocketCamp is to get memorable rides in, gain some athletic performance knowledge, and most importantly, have a great time!
Campers usually check in the afternoon before camp starts, get to the hotel, and give their bike to the RR staff. Campers can do whatever they like for the rest of the day.
In the morning, breakfast is provided at the hotel and everyone meets at 9:50am to our service course (tent in front of the hotel) to select which nutrition they would like from Honey Stinger, Snaak Bar, nuun, fresh electrolyte or water to choose from. Rocket Revolution coaches are happy to give recommendations regarding nutrition, hydration and tire pressure. Bikes will have already been tuned and tire pressure checked.
Ready to Ride
After everyone is prepared, the Rocket Revolution coaches give a brief refresher on route/group options. Both groups roll out together and the B group turns off early to do a shorter route. All campers are provided with all routes for both days so you can download the route to your cycling computer. Each rider is given a radio, ear pieces are optional, and roll out of town with a sag van to protect riders from traffic.
Once out of town, the sag vehicle heads to the first rest stop to set up nutrition/water and music. While out on course riders generally ride together, however, during sustained climbs riders are encouraged to ride at their own pace. Coaches are always nearby, reachable through radio, playing music through radio, and calling out turns through radio so there's no yelling or lack of communication.
After 3-6 hours of scenic pedaling cyclists are welcome back to the service course with an optional beer. The rest of the afternoon/evening is free time! schedule a massage with one of our massage therapists (not included), explore town, chill in their room, catch up on work calls, hang out by the pool...It's your choice! We have a recommended dinner spot each night where our coaches are going where it is optional to join.
What do I need to bring?
Road bike, helmet, warm weather cycling clothes/prefered gear for multiple days, street clothes and comfortable walking shoes for exploring when off your bike, and an outfit or two for going out with the group to optional dinners (we always like an excuse to dress up!)
